Lama Kunga Dorje

Drupon Lama Kunga Dorje received his education in the monastery of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Under his guidance he performed a traditional Three-Year Retreat in Namo Buddha, Nepal, and afterwards served as vajramaster in the Thrangu Tashi Choling monastery.

In 1998 he was appointed as retreat master (drupon) of the retreat center Karma Tekchen Yi Ong Ling in Halscheid/Sieg in Germany. After the foundation of the Thrangu Tashi Choling center in Frankfurt, later in Cologne, he was also appointed its leader. In addition, Lama Kunga is a guest teacher in several other centers of the Karma Kagyu lineage in Germany, like Heidelberg, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin, but also in Switzerland and in the Netherlands.

His deep and profound practice experience make him a highly valued teacher who can guide us in all aspects of our meditation practice. Since he lives now for almost 20 years in Germany, he is familiar with the Western mentality and knows how Westeners have to approach the meditation practice. He prefers to teach in English with German translation, but he also speaks German and therefore can give guidance to students in the German language. His direct and humorous manner make him a well-favored teacher.
